One of my favorite Halloween Activity...Besides raiding my kids candy stash....

Is boo-ing. I had never seen or had this done to me until the Turners Booed us one year. It has now become a family tradition...I think Mike and I like to do it more than the kids....true our kids haven't really understood what we were doing being that have been so young. But this year some of them understand.....

We make goodies and we wait until it gets dark.....and we go out and stalk houses. Most of the time we have houses that we planned on doing but sometimes they have already been "Booed" so we will drive around and plan out where to strike next. I am usually always the driver....SEE I GOTS THE Stealth driving skills...IE driving with the headlights off...and NOT pressing on the brakes..... Besides Mikes says I have lighting fast reflexes....(NOT) and that I am not stealth enough for ground movement.....I agree besides I like to watch...and sit in the warm car....and yell at the rest of the kids...

What is a "Boo Gram"?

A Boo-Gram is a mysterious note, left on neighbor's doors in the middle of the day. The note is usually a poem of sorts, and a large "Boo!" decoration for their front door. The decoration serves as a means of communicating to other neighbors that this house has already been "hit". By Halloween, it is not uncommon to see Boo-Grams lining up and down the street on all the doors in some neighborhoods!

Accompanying the Boo-Gram is a collection of goodies, determined by the giver. The goodies may vary from small Halloween treats, to kid's toys. The magic of these Boo-Grams is the reciprocation of this gift, as it is expected that when you are "Boo'd", you must "Boo" 2 other neighbors as well (after all, if you don't like your "Boo" gift, you can always re-gift to another neighbor!). Adventurous types "Boo" their neighbors in the broad daylight or early evening hours, as it increases the possibility of getting caught... those familiar with the famous "doorbell ditch" prank of their childhood years will be happy to know that this tradition lives on, though the recipient gets a fun gift in the process.

Many neighborhoods start in early October, however the common time to start seeing "Boo-Grams" is a couple of weeks before Halloween. However don't wait for someone to "Boo" you - start the tradition in your neighborhood... you'll be surprised how quickly the excitement spreads around the neighborhood!

How to start the tradition:

Go to BOOGRAMS.COM or http://www.myfolsom.com/boo/print.htm

1. Create a "Boo" bag/basket o' goodies (if this is new in your neighborhood, you may want to create 3 or 4)

We boo as many family as we have kids....that way each kid has its own time....We found that if we don't do that it becomes too hard to hide and DRAG....2 or 4 kids......

2. Print a "Boo" gram

3. Find your unsuspecting target

4. Make the "drop"

5. Ring the doorbell and knock

6. RUN!!!

Here is an alternative saying if you boo someone not in your neighborhood.....

This Halloween there’s something new,
A sweet surprise that’s called a “Boo!”
Secret friends have left it here,
To bring your family some ghostly cheer!
You’ve been boo’ed and it’s your turn to share,
With friends or neighbors, anyone you dare!
Put together two goody bags, spooky and fun
Leave them at the doors and just run!
Enclose this poem and one thing more,
An “I’ve Been Booed” sign for the front door!
It’s the latest and greatest thing to do,
Spreading Halloween cheer with just a little “BOO!”
