Hoogle Zoo with the fam damly

On Mermorial weekend we took a trip down to Utah to see the family! And we got the pleasure of going to the Zoo with Mike Dad and his wife Loreen
And Mike's Brother Craig and his wife Julianna with thier kids, Parley and Callie.
It has been really nice being so close to the Wolfley Family and getting to spend that extra time with them and seeing everyones kids grow up!

It was our first time to the the Zoo in Utah. I have to admit I was a little shaken by the crowds. But we had a great time. My kids are still talking about it!
It is nice Craig's kids are about the same ages as ours and they seem to get along great!

Hannah was sharing everything with Parley....Craig asked Parley where she got the gum in her mouth and Parley said that Hannah gave it to her! Good ole ABC gum! that Hannah had had in her mouth for a couple of hours! yum!
We saw the Elephant and the new baby griaffe. They had Zebra's and Monkey's.
They got nice and sticky eating cotton candy! I think we all had a great time! Even the parent's which is rare when you take 6 kids under 6 to the zoo!

Hannah's Preschool Graduation

Hannah has officially graduated from preschool.........although she goes back next year! But what ever, she was very excited. Every year they do a program and they sing songs and show off what they have learned over the year!

I love preschool! I think that it is such a great learning experience for them. Socially, you can tell kids that have not gone to preschool. I have my kids start a little early, they go for 2 years. The first year is mainly for the social aspect. That way the 2nd year they are all ready done the whole the social thing and they can focus on the learning a little bit more.
I think alot of Mom's feel like it is like having your kids in a daycare setting, and that if they are a stay at home Mom that they should keep them there and teach them at home . I disagree. If you are a stay at home Mom and majored in early childhood education then great! Stay at home and teach your kids....But let them play with other kids at the same time.
Don't make them weired and socially awkward. Firsts...... are the exception....you are more protective with them. It takes a while to let go....we have all been there. Soon you will drop the binky on the ground and wipe it off and stick it back in.....

Anyways, Please excuse my ranting. Leading edge preschool in Rigby Idaho! I love it. the structure of there curriculum, the teachers, the atmosphere. As long as its around..... all of my kids will go! Grace went last year...and I wished that she would have had more time there!

Hannah did so great this year at school! She made so many friends. she is confident. She loves it! She started to write her name and knows her alphabet! I think that paying the extra each month is worth it just to see how much fun she is having. and next year Brodie starts and Hannah gets to show her little brother everything! They both are so excited to go!

What I got for my birthday!

Note: this is only one hand typing, so bare with me!

Last Sunday I invited myself for a BBQ over at the Powells. Since my roller skating 70's night is on hold. The kids were playing in the pool and having a water fight.....the temptation was to much! I pulled the hose over to were all of the boring adults were sitting and I blasted them! So I knew I was gonna get it, I got thrown in the pool and sprayed with the hose. More people got involved and we had pretty much everyone involved but the "wimpy, wimpy, wimpy" ones.
Mike got involved and started throwing people in the pool Left and right. They all tried to get him in but.....No one got him. Can you see the drag marks from Billie's butt on the ground. This is where Mike ended up!
I had the hose pretty much the whole time until Mike came to grab it from me......when he grabbed it.....he sorta twisted.....I felt a snap.....It hurt. Not a whole lot but enough to complain.....Dave said "suck it up! you wimp!" This is my 30th birthday present!

It's fractured.....I get a full cast on Thursday! Do you think I should choose pink or purple?

His first Bike....My baby boy is growing up too fast!

So the truth is we have no money right now.
BUT I have been saving for a special thing for "the boy".

For his Birthday I wanted to buy him a bike. BUT his birthday is in July.....In Idaho summer is almost over.Right?I mean....it snows in September? So this is how I justify giving it to him early.....Besides the fact that I have this weired guilt thing that if he would have died......He would have never have gotten to ride his own first Bike. (this whole hospital thing has been really hard for me) So the day I got that last $ that I needed from my baby sitting we were off. I saved $100 to go buy him a bike and helmet.

We got to where.... of course....."the walls marts" Hannah favorite place.....she reminds us every time she see's the sign.
We did this and that shopping....and then off to the bike section we went! I did not tell Brodie anything for the fact that he would get so excited that he would be like a chicken with his head cut off! Then I would get mad and then not buy him anything......

Of course they have a dirt bike- bike.....You should have seen his face riding this bike around the store. He was is love.........I really almost started to cry seeing my BABY BOY take off on his big boy bike. The smile, the excitement......BUT the bike of course was twice the price of all of the other's.

We decided to check one more store before we bought this one....BUT I KNEW we would be back! It's cute! very cute! It is a dirt bike, has all of the plastics and the seat, the fenders, shocks. We got him the bike but no helmet.....None of our kids wear helmets.....We figured that he can just wear the 4 wheeler helmet, and he'd look real cool! Hannah has now decided to take back her strawberry shortcake bike.....and she wants a dirt bike!

We got home last night about 8:30 pm....And as everyone knows that is way past every one's bedtime. (including mine!) But Brodie was so excited that he had to take a few test runs! Its funny cause yesterday I had kind of a crappy day.....But All I will remember now is the big smile on my baby boys face! These are the things that make being a Mom so great!

The BUZZ!

So I took these pictures a few weeks ago......When I thought I would blog about ... How cute, what a good job.....and how Brodie Just sat there when we cute his hair....You know something postitive on myblog other than "Walmart stories"....and the Oh my kids drive me crazy!....

Well the same day I thought to post these pictures I was blog surfing (you know...... going and checking out other blogs. Most days I check out my fav's. But some I only check in once every while because they dont post as often.)

Anyways, one of my friends posted a blog about her son and his hair cutting woe's. So..... I really dident feel comfortable boasting how great my son was.....I felt like it would be rude and you know me.....I am such a kind and senitive friend ( SHUT UP!) that I felt like if someone did that to me I might be a little pissed...or disgruntled.

So, time has past and I talked with her.... so that she knows I mean nothing by it!
This is somthing that has taken time, crying, and lots of screaming but we have finally tamed the wild beast! (Brodie)

I just think he is finally use to it! He likes it now and will ask for Mike to "buzz him"..... It is so cute! He just sits there and watches Mike cut.He does a really good job, there is still a bit of whinning when daddy take too long....(he is a perfectionist).

I guess it is and little daddy Brodie bonding time! Boys need that!

The Sista's weekend................

So for Mothers day weekend I took a trip up to Utah (or hell, as I like to call it) for our sista's weekend.

It was a scrap booking all nighter....Although I did not stay up all night....(My normal bed time is like 9:30 - 10:pm so the thought of staying up all night scared me!)

Wait let me go back..... the thought of driving to Utah BY MYSELF SCARED TO SHEIGHT OUT OF ME. I hate Utah drivers....Yes!! you!!! CRAIG Wolfley..... I am talking about you!!! They drive super fast, cut off people, slam on their brakes. Just all around bad drivers! Before a Utah driver should be allowed to drive out of State they should have to take a normal drivers test....Because who ever taught these people to drive should be taken out to the scrub brush (I would say tree's.... but then they would have to drive somewhere to get to the trees, and probably kill someone doing it) and be shown a good driver book. I don't go to Utah pregnant, because when I do..... I have a nervous breakdown..... NO JOKE ASK THE FAMILY!

Anyways I had a great time getting together with family and sitting and chatting with them. Getting to know everyone a little better.

I had a great time snuggling with fancy Nancy! I got to put up with her snoring......her flaxulence and I had to keep telling her "please move your hand Nancy....I am NOT KEN!"
Poor Julianna, Annie has to leave early or she could have been fondled or fondled someone too.....Although I don't think she minded. We flipped and she got a bed all to herself! Next time you sleep with Nancy....The Boo Dee bumper! (bet Nancy wishes she had a blog to retaliate)

We had lots of fun. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER IF WE WOULD HAVE GOTTEN IN THE POOL! Next time bring your suits...GIRLS!

But it was fun!

Thank you Julianna for getting everyone together!

Oh and Nancy your and Julianna's grand total for scrap booking supplies is $6,984.97 or in other words toooooo muchhhhh!

Well when you put it that way......

The government recently calculated the cost of raising a child from birth to 18 and came up with $160,140 for a middle income family. Talk about sticker shock! That doesn't even touch college tuition.

But $160,140 isn't so bad if you break it down.
It translates into:
* $8,896.66 a year,
* $741.38 a month, or
* $171.08 a week.
* That's a mere $24.24 a day!
* Just over a dollar an hour.

Still, you might think the best financial advice is don't have children if you want to be 'rich.'Actually, it is just the opposite.

What do you get for your $160,140?
* Naming rights. First, middle, and last!
* Glimpses of God every day.
* Giggles under the covers every night.
* More love than your heart can hold.
* Butterfly kisses and Velcro hugs.
* Endless wonder over rocks, ants, clouds, and warm cookies.
* A hand to hold, usually covered with jelly or chocolate.
* A partner for blowing bubbles, flying kites
* Someone to laugh yourself silly with, no matter what the boss said or how your stocks performed that day.

For $160,140, you never have to grow up.
You get to:
* finger-paint,
* carve pumpkins,
* play hide-and-seek,
* catch lightning bugs, and
* never stop believing in Santa Claus.

You have an excuse to:
* keep reading the Adventures of Piglet and Pooh,
* watching Saturday morning cartoons,
* going to Disney movies, and
* wishing on stars.
* You get to frame rainbows, hearts, and flowers under refrigerator magnets and collect spray painted noodle wreaths forChristmas, hand prints set in clay for Mother's Day, and cards with backward letters for Father's Day.

For $160,140, there is no greater bang for your buck.
You get to be a hero just for:
* retrieving a Frisbee off the garage roof,
* taking the training wheels off a bike,
* removing a splinter,
* filling a wading pool,
* coaxing a wad of gum out of bangs
* coaching a baseball team that never wins but always gets treated to ice cream or pizza regardless.

You get a front row seat to history, to witness the:
* first step,
* first word,
* first bra,
* first date,
* first time behind the wheel.

You get to be immortal.

You get another branch added to your family tree, and if you're lucky, a
long list of limbs in your obituary called grandchildren and great grandchildren.

You get an education in psychology, nursing, criminal justice, communications, and human sexuality that no college can match.

In the eyes of a child, you rank right up there under God.

You have all the power to heal a boo-boo, scare away the monsters under the bed, patch a broken heart, police a slumber party, ground them forever, and love them without limits.

So, one day they will, like you, love without counting the cost. That is quite a deal for the price!!!!!!!

Love & enjoy your children !!!!!!!

My Friday.....

So as you all know we have been battling the cruuuuuuuuuu...."the Sickness".....Brodie is the one who sorta started it. He had a cough and I took him in and they found out he had strep throat....so he started the antibiotics...and seemed better. Then the girls got sick and once again he got sick.....But as the girls got worse he seemed to improve.

So last Thursday we went out on a date....and later when we got home Brodie woke up and said "I'm sick..."
I said "go back to bed, here is a Tylenol.....you will be better when you wake up tomorrow...."
Well, when he woke up he was worse....he had a low grade fever and I could tell was feeling really bad. So I gave took his temp. 101.1 so I gave him Motrin.

I got all of the kids on the bus....Put Esther down for her nap, Hannah in my room to watch a movie, and Brodie was laying on the couch being quiet. So I thought perfect time to get my floor cleaned.....(because I hate to clean my floors and they are always dirty.... but Jim has made me a little more aware of the dirt on it! Thank Jim.....:) Anyways I was mopping the floor when I glanced over at Brodie.....He was shaking and his eyes were rolled back into his head.......He was having a seizure. So I slipped and fell trying to get to him.....by the time I got to him he sorta stopped. He fell right to sleep. I felt him and He was burning up, I took his temp 104.7. I called Trisha.....(thank you Trisha.....You are such a great friend.....I love you.....I love you...I love you!) Trisha came over a watched my youngers and I took Brodie to the ER....ER MAC.

When he got there he was only 100.9......Then I sat and sat and sat some more....around the 2 hour mark......I had Brodie in my lap and I rocking him. All of the sudden he went limp, then he got very stiff.....his eyes rolled back and he stopped breathing. I jumped up and started screaming...the admittance lady looked at me like I hate gone mad....Until I started to scream at her.....She called for a nurse....Who took her own little old sweet time.....But when she saw him she grabbed him and took him into the triage area....they cut off all of his clothes. They had to put him on a breathing thing and they started to pump him full of drugs.

It was very scary...so for right now he is doing good....but they said to keep him close to us and make sure that he doesn't have anymore seizure's.(ummm ok) They said that they think it was a febrile seizure......But the Dr. said in most cases kids only have 1, But because Brodie had them back to back......that until he is 6 yrs old any time he has a fever...we have to get it down right away.....because he is prone to seizures....we go back in for more tests Wednesday....so I will keep you updated. Thank you to everyone that has helped or shown your support and love.....We appreciate it more than you know!
