Bail Out
Posted: 25 Sep 2008 03:15 PM CDT
I'm enjoying my break from blogging and will be back to regular posting probably sometime late next week.I have spent the past week watching the Cash For Trash debacle unfold via C-Span while I make grape juice, apple butter, pumpkin butter and do some heavy cleaning.I just now read that a panic stricken Congress will vote on some type of Bank Band Aid Bailout.Like other politically minded bloggers I want to weigh in on the current "crisis" and I also want to give some advice to my readers.Whether or not you choose to take my advice is of course your own business. Here's where I stand on the issue:I oppose any government intervention in the current Wall Street Panic. The proposed bailout is the biggest money and power grab in the history of the Unites States. The Federal Reserve is a cancer eating away at our Nation, Freedom and our Liberty. It is my opinion, that the Central Bank System is for the most part the sole cause for our current economic problems.I am appalled at the proposed shift of power and unchecked authority to the Federal Reserve and to the Department of Treasury.Section 8 of the LEGISLATIVE PROPOSAL FOR TREASURY AUTHORITY TO PURCHASE MORTGAGE-RELATED ASSETS makes me positively see red:"Decisions by the Secretary pursuant to the authority of this Act are non-reviewable and committed to agency discretion, and may not be reviewed by any court of law or any administrative agency."I would be funny if it wasn't for real and it will be very interesting to see if it is left in the current proposal.I am also extremely concerned about reports that foreign corporations with a United States affiliate will participate in the federal bailout. It is my opinion that by doing nothing now the markets will correct naturally.By doing nothing we will most certainly suffer economically in the short run, but it won't last for years. All grownups know that sometimes medicine is hard to take.We can as a Nation act like grown ups and take our medicine now and get better.Or we can act like children, refuse a bitter pill and let paternalistic government take control. Big band aids and denial can't cure cancer, but they do sometimes make children feel better. So the news today is that the cowards and wimps in Congress don't have the back bone to swallow the pill. Our elected representatives have just insured that we are going to drag this problem out and with a much more serious consequence.I believe a full blown economic depression and market crash is now only a matter of time.
I wonder if we have a year left?
Here's my advice:
If you haven't already, I encourage all of you to do what you can and to make sensible, concrete plans for yourselves and your families today.
If you have not made preparations to do without electricity, phone service, water and transportation I urge you to do it now.
The coming collapse will make services that you take for granted a hit or miss affair.
If you have consumer debt pay it off as fast as you can.The coming Credit Card Crisis is just around the corner.
Find a way as much is possible to live outside the paper money economy.
If you do not have food enough set aside to go for at least 2 months without a trip to the grocery store, please begin to consider what could happen if store shelves become empty and stay that way.
Stock up on supplies even if it's only an extra $10 or $15 of canned food every week.
It is imperative that you keep enough cash on hand to weather an extended "bank holiday".
Same goes for prescription medication. Stock up if you can.
Also, if you do not know how to safely use a firearm to protect yourself and your property, I would strongly encourage you to contact Gun Owners Of America or the National Rifle Association and sign up for a self defense course.
Food and gas shortages, bank runs and economic collapse will breed civil unrest.
We are in for hard times, and all the wishing for it to not be so won't change what lies ahead of us."I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around (the banks) will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs."Thomas Jefferson, Letter to the Secretary of the Treasury Albert Gallatin (1802)

What happened next....
I had someone (a friend of Mel's, and any friend of Melinda is a friend of mine) ask what happened in RS next. I would like to tell you about the drag out fight that we had and how everyone backed me up and I was carried out of RS like a Mike Tyson after he bit that guys ear off. But Honestly...... Sometimes I get black-out. Where I get all of these calls about 20 min after we get home to say " heard you told off the RS teacher" or "heard you verballed all over RS today". The fact is that I went home trying to remember exactly what I said....And how many people I probably offended doing it.....
I know that she had a horrified look on her face as if I just punched her in the stomach....The room was quiet and cold.....BUT She didn't stop talking about "the outright defiance" and if any thing it only got worse. To which point a more "level headed" friend of mine tried to defuse the situation, to no avail. She (the teacher) started talking about her divorce....(ooopppsss...I must touched a nerve talking about that red D) and she told us about her daughter who also had a "outward defiance". She then proceeded after numerous comments later....telling everyone that" she was sorry that she screwed up the lesson so bad and that everyone should just go home and read it for themselves" Which to would be a good thing considering that the lesson was actually on........
I think that pretty much anyone that is sitting through Relief Society knows that going out and getting a tattoo is not a good idea....and if they don't....I am sure that they are at home sleeping (where my tattoo wants me to stay every Sunday Morning) or they are out sitting in the foyer with my husband......he does not have a tattoo....he lives through me...... But I think that these type lesson should be reserved for YM & YW's.......
One Note: I want everyone to know that this lady is a great teacher (when she is not talking about her hang ups.) Not only is she a great teacher but also a wonderful lady in general...kind, caring and I don't think in any way did she mean to intentionally hurt any ones feelings. I just think that lesson became a little too personal for her. Just as a teacher you need to find the balance between inspiration and personalization.....

isn't it funny..... Part 1
So last Sunday we had a RS lesson that went sorta sour..... Rotten???? Smelly????? OK Bad, just really bad....... The lesson was on one thing and we ended up on something totally different..... Namely TATTOO'S........ I of course am defensive regarding this since the fact that I am one of "those kind of girls" and I have one! It has made me think.....
This teacher is a great teacher and usually gives wonderful lessons AND is a wonderful lady...... But she sorta has a hang up regarding tattoos and piercings..... I have heard these things from her a few times and unlike me, have ignored the comments...... BUT AS YOU KNOW the Heather-pregnant and the Heather not pregnant are 2 totally different being's. I have this habit of blacking out quite often and go into verbal diarrhea mode. At this point I cannot hold my tongue and Look out cause the shat is gonna hit the fan.....
Well, teacher told everyone these few comments that sent my head a spinning........
#1 tattoo's are a Outright defiance of god.....
#2 that people whom had tattoo would wear these tattoo's in the after life...
#3 that they would be ETERNALLY CONDEMNED......(No really she said it)
Wow....really...how do I not comment after that????? Even if I didn't have a tattoo.....If an investigator walk into that room and heard that lesson.....Do you think that they would want to become part of a church that considered them eternally condemned????????? Its true having a tattoo is a outward of something...call it defiance if you want....I call it my outward reminder of how I was and how much different I am now....Being a butterfly its fitting..... I raised my hand She did not call on me.....at first..... I think she remembers all of the other go arounds I have had with her.....and I think that she saw that my hand was not going down and as soon as she called on me I verballed all over this poor teacher.
Note this is what I call recall: BLACK OUT.......
"I was baptised into this church when I was 18. I got the tattoo when I was 17.....with full parental support..... (my whole family got a tattoo). I asked the teacher if she thinks that Heavenly Father was going to make her where a Red D on her shirt as a outward defiance that she was divorced? or if an adulterer would wear a giant A. Because these are things that are easier to hide than My Outward defiance of a tattoo......." It didn't go so well.... I was using this as a example, Not calling her out.....well , maybe a little.
The thing about my tattoo is..... I don't regret it...... NOT ONE BIT....... I feel like it is a part of me... and if I wouldn't have gotten that tattoo I would not be where I am today...... the funny thing about our past is.... we are our past..... It is what makes us who and what we are today. You can hide from it as much as you want, but it is always there.....You know the things you did... and unless you live in a soap opera called "Day of our Lives"......and your ex husband..... BO...... accidentally hits you with a mack truck and only runs over your head.....and you get amnesia.......and avoid dying like any other human would............................................................
you are likely stuck with your memories.
I am not saying embrace them..... grin and bare them.... Do you have that memory that you can see in your head, clear as day....But every time you do..... you cringe????? OHHHHH I have so many of those...... I have just learned to crin-grin....Part grin, part cringe. It make me feel a little better. There are things I would have done different...BUT as of TODAY, I WOULD NOT CHANGE THEM, cause you can't alter anything...(even the smallest thing..... Didn't you learn anything from Doc. Brown!!!! You could alter the time and space continuum (back to the future duhhh!!) It is like that song by Brad paisley....."a letter too me". Would I tell myself things that I should change? No.... But it seems so funny now.....
I would tell myself NOT TO LAUGH when your getting the "first kiss" (poor Rae I bit him pretty good, But he tried to stick his tougue down my throat!!!! and then got the nick name sharky(AND THAT IS, RAE AREOLIA) The boy I would have JUST kissed, Oh... the boys I would NOT have dated.....OHHH.....The boys I would have...... the girls I would have not hung out with, Stop giving those missionaries such a hard time, STOP EATING WHOPPERS!!! They are only a dollar, but your gonna get FAT!!! Mormon Girls are not all bad.....Just most :) or All..... The car I would have not stole (or rode in...) Don't mess with those boys..... Never mind... mess with the boys......Just don't let them mess with you, Don't date boys that DRIVE VANS! Stop skipping now...cause you are gonna be the only senior NOT at senior skip day! Don't let your mom dye your hair bright blond, if you have too... beat the crap out of her.... do it, a two piece really?(crin-grin), Do a few sit ups first, Who cares!!! DON'T FAIL FRESHMAN SEX ED, you WILL be the only senior in that class!!!! Don't wear your shirts so tight, really do you need that push up bra? it looks like you have 4 boobs.....at least get one that fits!!!! is that big Bubble like bouffant necessary on the top of your head?, Fur on your pants...... (crin-grin)..... Don't be scared, fall...Don't be a baby......it will only hurt a little while..., Let him help you...he was a good snowboard teacher, he could-a taught you a few other things....MAKE YOUR MOVE, Travel, bungee jump, sky dive, snowboard, go camping more, swim in the ocean(BUT only till your ----LES hurt, then get out and find a blow dryer), have fun.... JUST go balls out.... AND have a good time doing it!
I have more.....but we could be here for days......
I don't hold grudges...(sometimes) and I have had a few people worried that I would be avoiding RS.....and if you think that you need to get to know me a little better..... I will be there in full force.... I am not one to shy away.
Isn't it funny to remember all of the things you did.....even the one's you need to crin-grin at..... leave the past in the past, but crin-grin every once in a while so it doesn't come back to haunt you.....

I have an eye twitch.....
So I have this eye twitch.....I thought it would get better.......no such luck. The eye is a very sensitive area and it is just not right when it starts twitching on its own. It is very bothersome! It started about 2 weeks ago....Long story... BUT it is still happening! I thought it would be gone by now!
What does an eye twitch mean? Why does it happen? How do you make it stop?
It is starting to drive me insane.....
Eye Twitching - What It Is, Why You Get It And How To Cope- Please how do I cope?
Web MD
You are sitting down minding your own business when suddenly your eye starts to twitch. Yes!!!! Eye twitching is a common but often perplexing phenomena that affects millions of people every year. Is it serious or just something to put up with? For most people eye twitching is not a serious condition and typically results from excessive fatigue or stress.- duh For others eye twitching can lead to chronic irritation or vision problems. Let's talk a bit more about this unusual problem.
Blepharospasm (Defined as Eye Twitching)Blepharospasm is the technical term for involuntary eye twitching (eye spasms). Blepharospasm is more specifically defined as an abnormal involuntary blinking or spasm of the eyelids. Eye twitching usually involves involuntary movements of the eyelid specifically. Some refer to this condition as eye spasms. Some doctors often refer to this condition when chronically present as "blinking disorder." Sounds pretty serious. But it may not be. So its not a bad thing? a not so bad thing....so I don't have brain cancer?
Other Names:Also known as Benign essential blepharospasm, hemifacial spasm.
There are actually multiple forms of blepharospasm, some more serious than others.-Wait above you said not so bad and now your saying something diffrent?????Do you ever notice that on the web....everything always can seem alot worse! One type of blepharospasm is a blinking disorder that while not life threatening, is quite common and results frequently in patients. Some patients including those with Tourette's Syndrome- I always thought I had tourettes..... or related neurological problems or even brain damage...make more since now!! may experience more serious eye blinking disorders that may require evaluation and treatment. Frequent and uncontrollable blinking can result in vision disturbances. Many patients simply find frequent blinking or twitching annoying.
Usually patients experiencing this condition start realizing symptoms including excessive blinking accompanied by eye irritation. This may result from exposure to overly bright lights or being overly tired. me...me this is me....I left my glasses in utah......and I have been dying!!!! head aches....pain in my frontal lobe! The frequency with which someone experiences eye twitching will vary from day to day. Some people may notice their symptoms resolve during sleep and restart on waking. -yep!!!!
Occasional eye twitching is typically not a case for concern. Eye Twitching is associated with an
abnormal function of the "basal ganglion" from an unknown cause. The basal ganglion is the part of the brain responsible for controlling the muscles. In rare cases, heredity may play a role in the development of eye twitching. this is not occasinal!!! this is like every some min's.....for the last 2 weeks!
What do you do in this case? Your best bet is try to relax.- I try, I try, Dr..... but see I have 5 kids, including the husband and one on the way...... really...Do you think that my bathroom is anything like the spa????? No...... I have kids running in and out......people using the bathroom......children trying to get in the tub......or falling in the tub...On purpose The more you can relieve your anxiety, the less likely your eye is to twitch.- great so I am doomed!!! Let's talk more about the causes of eye twitching and possible solutions.
Causes of Eye Twitching
There are various causes of eye twitching in its serious and not so serious formats. The more common causes for eye twitching include:
Corneal irritation or injury
Stress - got this in loads
Lack of sleep - is 4 hours considered lack of sleep... I am just happy to get some!!!!
Fatigue - is this the same thing as lack of sleep? or am I just to tired to understand what you are saying?
Prolonged staring or eye strain - Does this include the glares I give my kids.....sometimes those hurt me....
Neurological disorders - Brain damage?????
Possibly Hereditary As mentioned above, even acute anxiety can sometimes results in eye twitching. Our bodies are remarkable machines, capable of doing extraordinary and unusual things at times. Eye twitching may be nothing more than a sign you need to take it easy, I tell my husband this over and over....could you tell him now.....I don't think he believes me...... or need a little R&R, - what is that? as much as it may be a sign that something more serious is going on. Don't forget, eye twitching is a relatively common phenomena. Ask just about anyone you know and they will probably tell you they have experienced eye twitching at some time or another. Many will probably have funny stories about eye twitching, while others may be able to confirm that eye twitching only occurs in certain situations (like before a big meeting or especially stressful situation).
Treating Eye
Twitching At this time, there is no successful cure for eye twitching,- you could have told me this like 5 paragraphs ago and we would have been good! although several treatment options may reduce its severity. Some patients may request drug therapy for chronic eye twitching problems,- what kind of drugs???? though drug therapy is often considered an unpredictable form of treatment.
If however, your eye twitching results from stress or anxiety, or some other undetermined cause, talk with your health care provider about ways you can remedy the problem safely and easily. You can do this a number of ways. There are cognitive behavioral techniques you can use to help relieve your anxiety and reduce the likelihood you will exhibit nervous tics including eye twitching. Try taking some deep breaths for example- I prefer to hit things....., before an important event. Visualize yourself engaging in the event successfully, with a calm demeanor.- isn't that like lying to yourself?calm demeanor? No don't even know me.....Imagine yourself succeeding without experiencing any eye twitching. This may seem unusual, but visualization and positive affirmations are a very successful method for relieving stress, anxiety and associated symptoms (like eye twitching)SO are you saying its all in my head...imagine it is gone........ If chronic eye twitching results from lack of sleep or fatigue, your best bet is to try to get more sleep. Even if that means taking a ten to fifteen minute catnap in your car on your lunch break. More sleep can also help relieve stress and anxiety. - sleeping pills, can I take those????
Prevention is also important for alleviating minor eye twitching. Since stress can contribute to muscle problems including eye twitching or blepharospasm, your eye care professional may work with you to design a stress reduction program.- I dont even think HF could make a stress reduction program that would work for me...... You might consider participating in stress management courses or classes, cognitive therapy or other supportive measures to help relieve stress and anxiety. - Do they have classes @ 4 am or 12pm, because those are the only times I have allotted......
Rest and relaxation often resolve most minor cases of eye twitching. Mike Wolfley 797-0028
If you experience more severe twitching your doctor may recommend BOTOX therapy or medication.you mean the virus? sure inject it near my eye......no thanks In rare cases surgery may be recommended particularly if twitching is interfering with vision. - hello when isn't your eye lid twitching interfering with your vision????
Prevention is best when it comes to twitching. All in all you should work to relieve your stress and get as much rest as possible. Do you have kids???? If eye strain results in twitching, be sure you get plenty of breaks during the day- I am a slave.....this is not a corporate office here.....I work with 4 tiny little Hitlers that dictate my day. They don't give me breaks- to help rest your eyes and reduce the severity of your symptoms. It is always a good idea to consult with your eye doctor to discuss your options. - thanks for the NO help- I now know that I have a eye twitch..... and that could last from 2 days - 1 year.....Its causes are stress and a lack of sleep.....I need R & R.....whatever that is....... and that there is no treatment......except for breathing.....which probably won't help! thanks WEB MD!

infomercials....
Just set it and forget it..... I love infomercials. Don't ask me why, I can sit and watch them like regular TV. Mike is always saying "and why are we watching this?" same goes for the home shopping network...... I can watch this channel and never even think twice about it. Well until someone says something. It is like they have bright flashing lights that you can't see, that draws your eyes to it and then you cant look away. a mental stimulant.....
My new thing..." sham wow" Have you seen these? They are stupid....and I am sure that they don't do what it says it does. But no matter that, the reason it is so appealing is that my life is all about spills. Some days I think to myself.....wow! we only had 2 spills today! we are doing good! (5 Min's later someone pushes the water button on the fridge, and a spill that totals at least 3 minors spills happens) I have been trying to "train" Brodie... (for the girls it is "teach", But for Brodie it is "train", yes, like a dog....Don't get me started on "training the Boy" that is a whole other post) to not have to use a lid....I have given up. I say he can use a lid until he is 18 as long as I don't have to clean up his messes! oh, his messes are anything than the normal mess, some how he manages to get it on the floor, his pants, the ceiling, his shirt, the counter, his socks, the walls, his underwear and down the hall and around the corner into the bathroom! How you ask? I don't know..... this part of the reason that dog- like training must come into play. So anytime this commercial comes on.... I want them..... I have to buy them and I am looking for the phone. I have not yet bought them.....But one of these days will be a "spilling day" where I have just had it! and I guarantee I will buy them. 19.95 for 2 set of sham wows.....and you can cut them in half and make more! Sham WOOOOOOOWWWWW!
I know I am a dork.....I already know.....But do you remember......" set it and forget it"?????? I had been watching these infomercials for months.....Picked up the phone a few times......you know, just to give them a shout out.....never made the call though. We took a trip up to Aunt Ellen's house.... and guess what.....she had one! Now you know that if aunt Ellen has one it must be good! AND She told me that she like them so well, that she bought one for all of her kids.....hummmmm...now wait....so your telling me I was right about this thing...... it was great! so as soon as I got home.....I bought one! and I still have it and it is wonderful! and worth every penny! It cooks a whole chicken in no time....it is always moist and delicious! We have done our turkey for thanksgiving.....which freed up my oven for all of the rest of the yummy goodness! We have done french fries, salmon and tons of other stuff! I am a kitchen girl....I am always looking for short cuts, that are good, easy and cheap!
The HSN......Please don't let my husband die before me....I will be one of those old women that sit around and watches that channel.....
There clothes are hideous, but there kitchen gadgets, outdoors stuff and crafts! wow! I love to see all of the new products.....and the people that invented them.....and they come on and try to sell these things....I love to watch them.....they are so nervous! I was watching one last week and it was a hair poofer....you know that fad where the women make it look like they have a bump on the top and back section of their head.....You sisters.....you know who you are.......you do this......DON'T DENIE IT!!!! Don't be ashamed....step up and say "I am a poofer....and I am proud" any who.....they forgot the hair spray.........bad news! I mean everyone knows that poofers.....need that aqua-net.....right???? YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE????? So this lady was trying to poof...and put this comb thing in her hair.....No go.....so instead she head banded it.....No better.....Actually much worse...... The HSN lady was saying....."oh now isn't that just adorable....." In the back ground is the director saying...."switch camera's........" because this girls hair was messed up.....it looked like she had just been hit hurricane IKE. Finally when they got some hair spray and fixed the wild mane....the camera went back to her..... I felt a little bad....but it was just so dang funny!
Sometimes you can get good deals.....they have really nice quilts and scrap booking supplies. I had a few friends in Portland that would call me every time the scrap booking thing came on. Some good deals.....Most of the time I am to cheap....and I don't have the money. See I am a infomecail watcher.....Not a buyer...... But don't let me be 80 with SS, Cause who know's what Grandma might buy!!!!

Hannah was so proud.....I was laughing so hard...I pee'd
Hannah came up stairs yesterday and was so excited! She got Brodie dressed up AND there was a matching one for her!!!! The only thing was that she had put them on backwards...... and Tiggers tail.........well you can see for yourself.
They were twirling and running around......funny stuff! I haven't laugh so hard in a while!
I think Brodie identified with "it"....and really thought "it" was suppose to be there! I just love this picture! He turned just in time for the click.....and I laughed and laughed.......they had no idea what was so funny. They just thought that they were the funny ones!
The socks were a Hannah touch....she informed me that "Tigger does not have hands....he has no finger hands......so put socks on him......so he would have no fingers.....Duh....."

I am back baby!!!!!
So I caught a virus...a pretty nasty one.....that shut my computer down. It is called antivirus xp 2008. I feel a little weird about even writing that...... thinking that it might come back to hunt me down! I have been dealing with it since Sunday.....My last post. All I did was post my 2 last posts....check my email. And boom.....This thing attacked.
Pop ups blasted me every 30 or so seconds.....My screen went blue....a horrible blue.....and it would go "ding","ding", "ding" you know sorta like that horrible alarm clock, or kids toy...... McAfee did nothing, Ad alert did nothing......Nothing worked!
$150 bucks...... and 1 computer geek later.....(no he wasn't a geek, very professional) I have a computer that is bare bones....waiting for me to reinstall everything.....I am so excited(joking). I can say that it runs much faster now though!
I have to tell you...the only thing that saved us was our external hard drive. Because I have pictures that have never been printed or developed. IE...Brodie's birth....Esther's Birth..... I have had my camera for 4 years now and have printed maybe a hand full, out of the hundreds I have..... And it all still sits quietly on my external hard drive......Wonderful! especially for the $ that I paid..... so if there are any recommendations I can make...... that is it! Buy one.....It will save you.
I will post more, really I will...... but I need to start working on re-doing my computer.
