Looking up....

I really wish this could mean that things are starting to go better around here but this is not the case.

Nesting....its a dirty word....My walls are sticky...my baseboards are growing things...my doors have tooth paste and go-gurt splashes on them....my fridge is actually eating the food I put inside of it...."Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout" lives at my house (Really???)....the mirrors in the bathroom looks like you just got out a hot shower.... 24/7......I had not been in my basement since????
I can't see the stairs....so why try.....But I did see yesterday that someone so kindly wrote the alphabet going down the wall in the basement stairwell....they are so thoughtful.....the toilet paper is not on the roller....someone painted my shower orange and rubbed Crisco all over it (ie mold??)....and here I sit. I should be down scrubbing things....washing things...preparing....but I can barely get my fat sausage fingers to type this post. I am a post Nester....oh why can't I be a pre-nester..the fact that I can't see the floor...I can't put my shoes on...or my pants...so most days..I walk around shoe-less and pants-less. Just a warning....

Yesterday, I had it! BUT the fact that squatting or kneeling was not a option...I took to slave labor (children)....and wide butt scooting. But I found something horrifying...have you ever sat on the floor of your kitchen and looked up? Getting a 1 year old perspective on things...I never knew!!! I can officially say that I have turned into one of those people that has a official dirty house....although you have to know that it will not stay that way....But for now I can only do what I can....My sister won't let me borrow her "merry maid" SO.....ANNIE....MY MICROWAVE IS FILTHY....Not just dirty..but filthy.....you now may hang your head in shame as I....Give me a few months....Before you visit....as well...I did find a few crumbs in my silverware tray....Sorry Alicia...I am one of those people....

As I scooted wide butt on my floor...scraping the??? wait.... what was that??? gum??? grime???canning crap???sticky black crap...tar??? who knows...with a toothbrush...off my floors....I looked up at the fridge....and realized that I was kidding myself....so I broke out the bleach...Busted out the fork...(I was serious) scraped the crap out of my floors, scrubbed with bleach until the baby I am sure was at serious risk.....and starting to bud another arm.....But I can officially say that the baseboards and black crap are off my floor....

So for the first time in 5 kids.... feeling the pre-nesting bug biting me.....I cleaned......ummm.....well more.... donated my children's rooms to the DI....
"We are keeping babies, doll house, kitchen, and barbies...Everything else must go!!!"....

Horror struck the children when the looked at me a realized that I indeed was serious....
We have...no joke, 50 barbies....Being the fair kind mother that I am... I said...
"you can each keep 4....."

"What? we can only have 12 barbies????"

"yeah that's good....Complain to me....I take them all....Silence...."

They all picked each others barbie to donate......AND Half way through the cleaning process I brought forth and hence....another law...

"you wanna play?....you no wanna clean?....fine you give me another barbie....to donate...and every time I see you playing....another one bites the dust...."

By the end of the clean the score was:

Hannah lost 3 additional barbies
while Grace lost 1

Very happy that our barbie total is now down to 12......
yes you will notice that 12 -4 is not 12...
But the girls convinced Brodie that he too needed his quota of Barbies so he too could play with them....
And honestly I have never seen my girls fight for "the boys" rights to play Barbies, as hard as they did....
they were very convincing....so we have 12.....

So dear friends you have asked what I needed...and instead of some cute boy things....I need to clean....buy me a maid.....

This is just in case you forgot who Sarah is......and no that is not my house.....

Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout

Would not take the garbage out!
She'd scour the pots and scrape the pans, Candy the yams and spice the hams, And though her daddy would scream and shout, She simply would not take the garbage out.

And so it piled up to the ceilings: Coffee grounds, potato peelings, Brown bananas, rotten peas, Chunks of sour cottage cheese. It filled the can, it covered the floor, It cracked the window and blocked the door With bacon rinds and chicken bones, Drippy ends of ice cream cones, Prune pits, peach pits, orange peel, Gloppy glumps of cold oatmeal, Pizza crusts and withered greens, Soggy beans and tangerines, Crusts of black burned buttered toast, Gristly bits of beefy roasts. . .

The garbage rolled on down the hall, It raised the roof, it broke the wall. . Greasy napkins, cookie crumbs, Globs of gooey bubble gum, Cellophane from green baloney, Rubbery blubbery macaroni, Peanut butter, caked and dry, Curdled milk and crusts of pie, Moldy melons, dried-up mustard, Eggshells mixed with lemon custard, Cold french fried and rancid meat, Yellow lumps of Cream of Wheat. At last the garbage reached so high That it finally touched the sky. And all the neighbors moved away, And none of her friends would come to play. And finally Sarah Cynthia Stout said, "OK, I'll take the garbage out!"

But then, of course, it was too late. . . The garbage reached across the state, From New York to the Golden Gate. And there, in the garbage she did hate, Poor Sarah met an awful fate, That I cannot now relate Because the hour is much too late. But children, remember Sarah Stout And always take the garbage out!

Recipe Stalker...

A while back I went to a church activity that we called Lunch bunch. Pretty much where all of the bored SAHM got together to chat about this and that, and let the kids roam and play. We had different themes for the lunch and people would bring a potluck dish for us all to try.

I have this neighbor who made these yummy enchiladas....OH heavens they are delightful! So I started to ask for the recipe...and so goes on my stalking...I think she only gave it to me to make me shut up about it..But I am very appreciative that she did! Now I can share it with you..It is a pretty easy dish...although the first time I made it...It wasn't quite as good as hers....But that is how it goes.....But I have sorta modified it..and It now is just as yummy as I remember! Thx Angie!

My kids love it! But then again they love sushi.....

Chicken Enchiladas Suizas

PREP TIME :35 Min
COOK TIME :35 Min
READY IN :1 Hr 10 Min

INGREDIENTS
12 corn or flour (I prefer flour) tortillas
vegetable oil for pan-frying
3-5 cooked boneless skinless chicken breast halves, shredded
10 ounces shredded Monterey Jack cheese
3/4 cup minced onion
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup sour cream
1 cup whipping cream
1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chiles, drained
2 ounces shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1/2 cup chopped green onions
1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
1/2 cup avocado

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Fry tortillas (one at a time) for 5 seconds on each side to soften and make them pliable.
Add more oil to pan as needed. Drain between layers of paper towel and keep warm. (this is where I changed things up a little, I put the tortilas in the sauce, in hopes to cut some calories)
Divide chicken, 10 ounces of Monterey Jack cheese, and onion among the 12 tortillas. (Ok here to I add a heaping tablespoon of sour cream in with the chicken, it makes things very moist)
Roll up each tortilla and place seam side down in a greased baking pan.
Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
Add the flour and whisk until mixture begins to boil.
Slowly add the broth, stirring with a whisk until thickened.
Mix in the sour cream and Chile's, heat thoroughly but do not boil, stirring occasionally.
Pour mixture over the enchiladas.
Bake in pre-heated oven for 20 minutes or until heated through. Top with remaining Monterey Jack cheese and bake for 5 more minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions, cilantro, avocado and tomatoes.

yummy!!!

Grace turns 7!!!!

This year was the off year of birthday parties for Gracie....She got to spend her Birthday with family.....We did the Pizza, movie, cake and ice cream thing!

And special time with daddy, which I think she enjoyed very much.

Evens years are friends and big parties....
Odds are a family night and a date with one friend....
Lunch and a cheap movie...
Just happen to be that she picked sushi (my favorite) and I let her pick 2 friends which then turned into 3 friends....Because Of course Hannah had to go........Lucky girl!!!

Grace loves Sushi....Hannah has never cared for it so much....But this time we had to order double...all of the girls liked it...Hannah loved it! It must run in the blood!!! They also Loved what they thought were Onion rings.... it was calamari....(squid)....Suprise....suprise.....

Then after we stopped at a gas station..stocked up on the treats....and we went out to a movie....I think all of the girls had a great time!

Happy Birthday Gracie!!!

Christmas day...

Christmas day is always very exciting....this year we didn't do hardly anything. But our kids did just fine...Grandma and Grandpa set the kids up great...and we had a secret Santa this year...We got more than enough! I don't think my kids would have notice if they had gotten less....But we are sure grateful...
Hannahs favorite part is her sock!!!
Brodie was super excited about everything.... This was Esther's first year really opening gifts.....she loved it...and did very good at it!!

Grace was very grateful and loved everything.....But the gift that she loved the most was her $5.oo art kit....Funny!

Since most of our family is to far to see...we hung out with some good friends....Who cooked up some mighty fine Prime rib....It was a good day!

Christmas program

Every year our preschool does this big Christmas program....with singing...bells...plays...Its so much fun to watch the kids each year as they grow.....
Brodie was a elf.... and he got to shout "I WILL"!!! He loved it! You know being tone deaf and all..... Don't ask me why he is crossing his legs like a girl but...he is....
He also decided to stop the show.....
Teacher....Loud
No response...
HEY TEACHER!!!...Louder
Trying hard to ignore.....
TEAEEEEECCCHHHHHEEERRRR......
Impossible to ignore....

I wlobve you teacher.....

AWWWWW......Crowd goes wild....

Hannah got to tell everyone our favorite Christmas tradition.....
Instead of what we planned..
she decided to say that she goes to Santa's house to have a cup of cocoa.....

and Santa (Apparently Hannah's good friend)
comes and visits with all of the kids...and gives them treats....

Tree decorating & Christmas eve....

So these are a little late ...but my camera has been broken and I haven't been able to transfer any of the photos....

Tree decorating.....all I have to say is that we got a fakie this year...I feel so shocked and shamed......But I have to admit it looks nice.....and there was less clean up and NO PINE NEEDLES!!!!

Here is Daddy busting out the ornament box....kids climbing on him to get a ornament..... Actually I think this is after we yelled at them to stop...
A tradition like many other families is that we buy or make each other a ornament for Christmas....The kids really like to see the ornament that they have....and they also like to brake Mommy & Daddy's.....

When we are helping were happy...

Just a update....and info for the family.....Benign focal epilepsy

Most in the Wolfley family were told that these might effect the Wolfley girls in the family....But what the dr. told me is that it doesn't discriminate gender. Here are just some facts and info for everyone......

Benign focal epilepsy of childhood or rolandic epilepsy
(ages 2 to 12)

Rolandic epilepsy syndrome is the most common epileptic syndrome of childhood, representing 15 percent to 25 percent of childhood epilepsy.

The syndrome takes its name from the gyrus of Rolando, the brain area that produces the EEG brain-wave pattern characteristic of this form of epilepsy. Although this distinctive EEG pattern is seen in 2 percent of healthy children, only 8 percent of these children will have epilepsy.

Children with rolandic epilepsy have normal development and normal neurological signs. Most do not have learning problems, although some may have specific problems with reading and language.

In one study, 50 percent of close relatives were found to have the characteristic brain-wave abnormality between ages 5 and 15 , but of all children who inherit this abnormality, only 12 percent will actually have seizures.

The first sign of rolandic epilepsy is typically a seizure during sleep. The seizure presents as a rhythmic tightening and relaxing of muscles on one side of the face and, perhaps, of the arm on the same side. The episodes awaken the child and may involve mouth movements, possible drooling and/or gurgling sounds without loss of consciousness.

Seizures during the day also include the lips, gums and cheek, the build up of saliva, speech arrest, and a tightening or twitching of face muscles on one side. Consciousness is maintained and movements of the arm and/or leg may also occur. The child may feel a numbness of the lips, gums and cheek after the episode.

Seizures in rolandic epilepsy are typically easy to control and usually disappear by age 16 with or without treatment . The seizures are infrequent. Some doctors do not recommend treatment if the seizures happen only at night while others may not begin treatment until several seizures have occurred. Medications used in treating this condition are Phenobarbital, phenytoin, carbamazapine, oxcarbamazapine and valproate. Most children can be tapered off of medication after one or two years of therapy.

The seizures started again....

I haven't been gone, just busy...with Christmas and everything....
We all got the bug, the day after Christmas....I have had it for a while now....and feeling really run down. But Monday.....Brodie had another 2 seizures. These were not all febrile. We are starting the testing and such. I am not sure how much blogging I might be doing. I will keep everyone updated.
Love,
